EK086. DXB-HKG.
Dads first flight, post-enrolling onto the Skywards programme which launched in May 2000.
Fast forward 20 years today, EK086 no longer exists, well, rather it has been replaced by EK386. This is, however, only part of the story as it stands DXB-HKG is served approx 5 times per day.
How time flies. Three decades and still flying Emirates#GoingStrong
It is amazing to see how well connected and integrated the Emirates network is. I got this information through his Skywards statement which can be backdated all the way since the account was activated on the Emirates network in May 2000. Data is key, there is so much that could be done with all these flying hours and logged miles, perhaps a fun infographic via the Emirates app for sharing on social networks? One of maaaaany ideas. Well done Emirates for keeping these memories on file, and a Happy 20th Anniversary at that!
You know what would be even cooler? If I were to find the details of his very first flight (late 80’s) and I am sure someone here may have an idea or two how I could go about doing so. Coffee would be on me the next time I am in Dubai for a layover — promise.
